Even as a young man, Mr. Flowers’ heart has always been to get people together, to keep the neighborhood connected and participating in their community. As a 22-year-old man, Mr. Flowers stood on the shoulders of many who have gone before him and sought to keep the tradition of Gowanus Old-Timers Day alive. From hand-writing and photocopying flyers years ago to what the tradition has become today, Flowers has sought to provide this “One-Day Give Back” as an opportunity to bless and build his community.
